Security should not be a paid upgrade. That is why every Altered Dimensions hosting plan includes free SSL certificates, automatically installed and renewed.

What Does SSL Do?

An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between your website and your visitors. This means any data exchanged — passwords, credit card numbers, personal information — is scrambled and unreadable to anyone who might intercept it.

You can tell a site has SSL by the padlock icon in the browser address bar and the https:// prefix.

Why It Matters

• Google ranks SSL sites higher — Since 2014, HTTPS has been a ranking factor in Google search results
• Browsers flag non-SSL sites — Chrome and Firefox display "Not Secure" warnings for sites without SSL
• Customer trust — Visitors are more likely to stay and convert when they see the padlock icon

Automatic Installation

When you add a domain to your hosting account, we automatically request and install an SSL certificate through AutoSSL. The certificate renews every 90 days without any action required from you.

Checking Your SSL Status

You can verify your SSL certificates are active in cPanel under Security and then SSL/TLS Status. A green padlock means everything is working correctly. If you see any issues, our support team can resolve them for you.
